I'd say combinations of lighting are a must in any room. A striking ceiling chandelier can act as a real show-stopper and ensure that instant WOW factor. Combinations of floor standing lamps, wall lamps and side lamps can effectively highlight statement design pieces and accessories, and establish a balance of light and shade, to create a mood in keeping with the interior style.
Never underestimate the importance of lighting design. Its deserving - and rightly so - of its own unique brief, as part and parcel of the interior design process.
